General Tuning Questions

We specialize in 2005+ Gen III Hemi engines including Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, Chrysler 300, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Ram 1500. We also tune engine swaps using Gen III Hemis.

For 2015+ vehicles, your PCM needs to be unlocked before tuning. You can use Holley or HP Tuners PCM upgrade service for this. For 2014 and older vehicles, remote tuning is possible without sending the PCM.

You must source your own MPVI device and purchase the necessary credits for your vehicle before we can start tuning. 2018+ vehicles also need a bypass cable available from HP Tuners.

NAG1 transmission cars need 2 credits total. Vehicles with 8-speed transmissions need 6 total credits (4 for transmission + 2 for engine).

HP Tuners Specific Questions

HP Tuners offers the best scanning, logging, and calibration solutions for Mopar vehicles with MPVI3 devices and VCM Suite software. It provides more detailed control and data logging capabilities compared to handheld tuners.

Yes, once you've made your custom calibration on VCM Editor, use VCM Scanner to monitor performance, data log, and scan for DTCs and fault codes.

Yes, 2018+ Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles require the Smart Access Cable to enable read, write, and special functions.

Tuning Process Questions

Remote tuning typically takes 3-7 business days depending on modifications and how quickly you can provide datalogs. More complex builds may require additional time.

Yes, we tune everything from bolt-on modifications to heavily modified engines including forced induction, cams, headers, and complete engine swaps.

Yes, we always provide your original stock file so you can return to factory settings at any time.

Performance & Modifications

Power gains vary by vehicle and modifications. Typically expect 15-40+ horsepower on naturally aspirated engines with bolt-ons, and significantly more with forced induction or internal modifications.

Yes, we provide TCM tuning support for select Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM transmissions. This includes shift points, firmness, and torque management.

Yes, we can disable MDS if requested. This prevents the engine from switching to 4-cylinder mode for improved throttle response and sound.
